Program Diagrams

My main idea is how I can employ nature’s strategies into an architectural form with respect to the human relationship. I feel as though there is a disconnection between users and the built environment and I think that incorporating a people oriented program with natures methods would be a good idea to study further. With that said, I would like to try to explore how I can successfully blend together an office building and a residential high-rise. I want to create a space that is both soothing for a residence but also a work friendly environment within as well. Since these two programs have such a people generated atmosphere, I think adding in an element of nature can break the walls that create this disconnect. The advantages of mimicking nature for design would be that the indoor air quality would be far better so that workers and residence would be less likely to get sick. Therefore, if people were healthier they would be more prone to get work done throughout the day and be more productive. Using these strategies would also save energy, reduce emissions, and have a small impact on the earth wherever it may be built. The advantages therefore would be far more than a modern high-rise building.
